Meine Meinung
Viele viele von euch haben dieses Buch schon gelesen, ihr kennt es wahrscheinlich unter dem deutschen Titel "Weil ich Layken liebe". Ich habe von dem Buch schon im Sommer gehört und es war klar dass ich es irgendwann lesen werde. Ich habe mich wirklich darauf gefreut und war sehr gespannt darauf, da ich schon sehr hohe Erwartungen hatte.
Ich muss sagen es hat mir schon sehr gut gefallen, aber so richtig vom Hocker gehauen hats mich nicht. Es ist ein Buch aus dem "New Adult" Genre..zumindest wird es als solches angepriesen. Davon habe ich ehrlich gesagt nicht sehr viel mitbekommen. Erstens befindet sich die Hauptperson Layken noch in der Highschool, was bei New Adult Büchern doch sehr selten vorkommt, und zweitens kommen praktisch keine Intimen Szenen vor, was ja auch ein charakteristisches Merkmal ist. Es ist nicht so dass ich nur daurauf aus bin solche Szenen zu lesen, aber ich habe mir doch ein bisschen mehr in diese Richtung erwartet.
Dennoch konnten mich die Charakter die meiste Zeit überzeugen. Will war mir von Anfang an unglaublich sympathisch. Ich will jetzt nicht so viel über ihn erzählen, sonst ist der ganze Überraschungseffekt weg :P Ich kann euch aber sagen ihr werdet ihn lieben :D
Layken war mir auch sympathisch. Sie tat mir zu beginn so leid, da ihr Vater vor kurzem gestorben ist und sie dann auch so plötzlich umziehen. Ich finde es großartig wie sie mit ihrem kleinen Bruder umgeht. Genauso wie ich Will dafür bewundere wie sehr er seinen kleinen Bruder liebt!
Die ganzen Nebencharaktere waren auch sehr gelungen, vor allem die zwei kleinen :D aber auch Laykens beste Freundin!
Was an diesem Buch so besonders ist, sind zum einen die wundervollen Zitate der Avett Brothers. Sie stehen immer am Beginn eines Kapitels. Und zweitens man bekommt einen wundervollen Bezug zum "Poetry Slamm". Was das ist, und ich es einen in seinen Bann zieht müsst ihr selbst heraus finden!
Fazit
Ein Buch das mich einerseits begeistert und andererseits ein bisschen enttäuscht hat. Die Erwartungen wurden nicht alle erfüllt. Aber dennoch überzeugt es durch wundervolle Charaktere, eine tolle Liebesgeschichte und den Bezug zu "Poetry Slamm". Ich weiß aber noch nicht ob ich die folge Bände lesen werde. Daweil jedenfalls einmal nicht.
Ich gebe diesem Buch aber trotzdem super 4/5 Herzen:
